Dub Sonata is a Hip Hop producer born and raised in New York City, currently living in California. After an introduction to beat-making at age 18, he bought himself an MPC2000XL and never looked back. Known for photography work later in his career, Dub’s earliest music credits include production for Double A.B., Killarmy’s Dom Pachino & QB veteran Nature. His ’07 debut album On The Arm garnered praise from outlets like URB Magazine who named Dub part of their Next 1000, stating "Dub Sonata sounds like he was schooled by both DJ Premier and Three 6 Mafia — soul samples on one track, stomping drums and alarms on the next."

The art of sampling spawned his expansive vinyl collection, among it rarities the globe-trotting producer dug up on five different continents. Following a 2010 trip to Cuba, Dub returned home with a crate of records that became the source samples for his critically acclaimed instrumental project Nights In Cuba, which Okayplayer hailed “relevant musically as it is politically.” Chronogram called it "an orgy of genre and influence that Lee "Scratch" Perry would revel in."

Dub’s 2012 LP Media Shower with Double A.B. includes appearances from Roc Marciano, Evidence, Scram Jones & Sean Price. Other notable production credits include Sage Francis’ "Once Upon A Blood Moon," Jidenna's "Feng Shui," Rhymefest & Queen Latifah's "Goin In,” and various songs by Sadat X, Copywrite & Cannibal Ox. His 2022 release Tranquilizer Dart features contributions from Vordul Mega, Bobby J From Rockaway, Guilty Simpson & Muja Messiah.
